I’m Amanda, the owner and principal photographer of Amanda Forman Photography.
I specialise in working with couples who don’t like having their photo taken. Making the experience fun, full of laughs and most of all natural. How would you describe your style?
I would say that my style is a mix of documentary photography and hero images. I love capturing those moments that you won't have seen or the ones that you want to re-live over and over again.
I specialise in working with couples who don't like being photographed, those who know they want photos of the two of them on their wedding day but don't like the idea of having loads of posed shots. I make it easier for you by breaking your photos up into different parts of the day and making the experience as natural and enjoyable as possible.
My couples always comment on how unobtrusive I am. Of course, I direct them when we are photographing the couple's portraits and the groups but otherwise, I try and stay on the sidelines photographing your day just the way it is - perfect!
What do you love about weddings?
The joy everyone has for the couple; the twists and turns throughout the wedding day; and being a part of a couple's step into married life. My part is small, but I love being there to capture the moments that the couple will look back on for a lifetime to come.
I have made many lifelong friends after photographing their weddings.
Advice for couples planning their wedding?
Deciding on a photographer is an important step in the grand scheme of wedding planning, after all you are trusting this stranger to capture your wedding day, and for those once in a lifetime moments, there is no pause button.
Now obviously this photographer needs to be within budget and available, this goes without saying. BUT it is worth considering the following:
You must be able to trust whoever you choose to capture your day; not only with respect to not missing those magic moments that will only happen once; you also need to trust the advice given during the run-up to, and even on the day; be it about your wedding plan, posing or even tips on how to walk down the aisle; because it is fair to say; your wedding photographer will have been to more weddings than you.
So, don't panic, don't rush; take your time and find one that fits with you!
Your Travel policy?
Travel within 1.5 hours of Rutland is included, if the destination is further afield accommodation may be required but we will discuss that beforehand.
