Beautiful Photography from Ali Gaudion
Sweet and pretty images is what I am about. I have shot weddings in Goodwood House, Stansted House, The Witterings Beach, Buxted Park, Farbridge, Arundel Castle, Southend Barns, and in lots of back gardens and marquees. I know most wedding venues on the South Coast. I have shots weddings in the rain, snow and fog.
I specialize in bringing to life, the couples’ emotions for one another, the audience’s love for the couple and the fun of the day … all as quietly and calmly as possible. Candid and natural is my style with a little glamour at the end. At 42, I am not on the “experimenting for low fees” end of the scale. With me, you will get some beautifully lit and naturally posed shots, which will WOW you and your families. This is what you pay for. But you will also get shots of you and your guests, which are natural and unposed also, in the most beautiful of lights and taken with the loveliest of lenses, bringing out the best bits.
The roller coaster that is the wedding day is my specialty. I usually can tell, when I knock on the door of a brides house in the morning, as to whether they will be a calm yet giggly bride or a “need an extra glass of bubbly to calm the nerves” bride. Whatever the atmosphere, I am well aware, I have one of the nicest jobs around. Not the easiest, but the nicest. I spend my day, in wait, or the bride, the groom, the best man, the bridesmaids, the first dance. The beauty of this is that, no matter how many weddings are shot, they are all different. Every work day for me, is different.
I always make sure I am seen and not heard. If I am to be heard, I’m fast and effective (i.e. can we get everyone out on the lawn!). I work calmly and creatively.
I love to deliver a wedding album. To watch a bride brim with emotion as she turns the pages. Seeing her day in print for the first time. Holding back the tears and laughing at what she never saw, that day.
I learned to use a camera in 1991 and discovered the dark room of my Auntie Terry (Hirst-Hermans) in Philadelphia. Now living in Chichester, West Sussex, I sometimes yearn for the days of the slow, defined hours of gratification. These days, things are quickly composed and the instant gratification is there. I can even show the world (or my Facebook audience), as the day unfolds.
I am proud of my work and my business and urge each and every bride to spend as much as you can afford on your photographer. When all the guests have gone; the tan has faded and the top layer of the cake is in the freezer, all you have left are your photos or your album. These need to last you well for the rest of your life.

Feminine, pretty style with a 90% natural and candid rule. I walk around and capture sweet moments in natural light without your guests knowing they are being photographed. These are the favourite shots of of the bride and groom usually. However, I throw in 10% of glitz and glamour at the end. Finding the most beautifully composed area of your venue, I will set up the lighting and posing (as naturally as possible) and take a WOW shot. Whether it be a sunset or field or castle, there will be a beautiful shot in your porfolio at the end of the day.
I love the atmosphere. People are always happy at weddings. It's the beginning of something. It brings hope and happiness. It also brings families and friends together. Living far from my loved ones, who are in the USA, I can relate to this happiness and gladness to be with your family on such an amazing occasion. Also, these days people are on their best behaviour and perhaps, after the bubbly, their most relaxed.
